NAB Show is the world's largest electronic media show, drawing 90,000+ broadcasters, filmmakers, and media technology professionals to Las Vegas each April. International exhibitors bringing cameras, production gear, and studio systems need an ATA Carnet to clear US Customs without paying import duties — often saving tens of thousands of dollars on high-value broadcast equipment.
International companies exhibiting at NAB Show need a US-bound ATA Carnet issued by the U.S. Council for International Business (USCIB) or the Canadian Chamber of Commerce. The carnet covers professional and commercial equipment, commercial samples, and exhibition goods. It allows duty-free temporary importation into the United States for up to 12 months, which is more than sufficient for the show's duration.
4–6 weeks before NAB
Start your carnet application. Compile a complete equipment list with descriptions, serial numbers, and values in USD.
2–3 weeks before
Submit application to EasyCarnet. Standard processing is 5–10 business days; allows time for any corrections.
1 week before
Receive your completed carnet. Review all items against your actual shipment manifest — corrections at customs are painful.
Day of arrival at LAS or freight delivery
Present your carnet to U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP). Officers stamp the importation voucher and counterfoil.
After NAB — before you leave the US
Present your carnet at CBP export on departure. Obtain the re-exportation stamp for every item. Keep all stamped counterfoils.
Within 2 weeks of return
Return the completed carnet to EasyCarnet for discharge with USCIB.
