Full Germany Carnet Guide6 weeks before Inhorgenta (early January)
Begin jewelry and watch list. German Zoll is meticulous about precious goods descriptions — include metal type, stone type, carat weight, and EUR or USD value for each piece or lot.
4 weeks before
Submit carnet application. Include all jewelry, watches, gemstones, and display equipment. Rush service available for late applications.
2 weeks before
Receive carnet. Confirm all items are accurately listed. For personally carried jewelry, review airport customs procedure with your team.
Arrival at MUC
Present carnet to German Zoll. For hand-carry jewelry, use the customs declaration desk in arrivals. Officers stamp importation vouchers.
Inhorgenta show days
Keep carnet at your stand. German Customs occasionally inspects jewelry and watch exhibits during Inhorgenta.
Post-show departure from Germany
Present carnet to Zoll at MUC for re-exportation stamps before leaving Germany. All items must be accounted for.
Within 2 weeks of return
Return completed carnet to EasyCarnet for USCIB or Canadian Chamber discharge.
