Get your ATA Carnet from the United States or Canada
China is a full ATA Carnet member and accepts carnets for commercial samples, professional equipment, and exhibitions. Home to the Canton Fair and CIIE, China requires separate carnet entry and exit — no EU transit benefits apply. Shanghai Pudong is the recommended entry for most carnet goods.
China joined the ATA Carnet system — ensure your carnet lists China as a destination country when applying. Each entry into and exit from China must be separately documented on your carnet. EU transit benefits do not apply. Working with a local agent familiar with Chinese customs procedures is strongly recommended.
